Looking through both a personal and universal lens, Penny Taylor aka Taylored Curiosities, explores the human urge to control the uncontrollable. Exploring the systems that people use to bring order to the chaos of our lives, she focuses on ancestral connections that link all humans together:- ritual and superstition.

Objects of intention are formed by hand, with a preference for clay and organic matter – materials that evoke our bond with the Earth and the mud play of childhood.

Nature-led processes result in abstract paintings and performances, for example inviting live snails onto unique divination boards to provide an answer from the universe.

Taylor blurs the boundaries of art, science and society using anthropological study and contemporary practices.
With a background in Marine Biology and Psychology, it is often a challenge to define where the experiment starts and the art ends.
