Creating for joy
I’ve been really loosening up which is good for me. My art always has to have a purpose and I’m a perfectionist so I spend a lot of time making and refining and binning things that go wrong. You know…. all the things I tell my students not to do.
I felt an intense need to paint and work with 2D rather than 3D for a change. I didn’t start with anything in mind; I just painted and refined once I saw a creature lurking there.
So creating for absolutely no reason and getting messy with the materials without rhyme or reason is actually really beneficial for me.
I’m still not sure what or why these are, but I like them.
