Today, Year 6 started their new topic; World War. I was asked to spend the afternoon with them making remembrance poppies. As with my usual SDL way of working, they were given an array of materials and then had to design 4 poppies, before choosing the one to actually make. There were no boundaries. As long as it was a poppy, they could use whatever they chose to create it. I gave them some inspiration and source material, but their imaginations did the rest…
