Abstract Flowers
Today my Art Therapy group (made up of children from years 3,4,5 and 6) created a flower garden.
They each chose a colour from the 10 I had mixed up for them and this became their colour for the duration of the session.
Starting with a blank canvas…
I talked them through painting dots, circles and swirls in a variety of sizes and once finished they all switched to green paint to add stems to their shapes to transform their abstract art into a garden.
And the final result is a collaborative piece of abstract art, created by children who needed a happy Wednesday afternoon. It melts my heart to see how happy these sessions make them. I adore teaching art therapy workshops.
