Book Club: Uglies

I’ve just finished reading ‘Uglies’ by Scott Westerfield and if you’re looking for a new book to read, this could be the one.

Favourite character

Tally is my favourite, she’s the main character and she’s extremely curious.? She wants to know more and questions things.? I like that.

Favourite part of the story

This book has a lot of events that you enjoy.? It’s a big subject to cover and it really makes you think about how the world will end up if we don’t change our ways soon.? It’s also quite scary with the plastic surgery aspect of it.? Makes you feel a bit skin tingly in a bad way.

I know, I know, its teen science fiction… But the storyline is actually really creepy if you think about it too much and by pointing out all of the characters flaws they become relatively believable; insecure and worry laden just like the rest of us.

This is the first part of a trilogy (I haven’t read the other two yet, so no spoilers please).

Apart from the ‘love interest’ aspect, which is only a small part of the story, it’s a good read and I enjoyed it enough to want to read the next one.
