Keeper of the Beach
‘The Keeper of the Beach,
Is a lonely old soul,
She spends most of her day,
On a long, slow, stroll.
Her head is full of water,
Which she’s trying not to spill,
But the Morrow keeps her company,
And provides her with good will.’
I have used a 4? DIY Kidrobot Munny and combined sewing, my original resin toys, sculpting and up-cycling with painting and needle felting to create this one of a kind creature.? This creature is one very close to my heart as she is inspired by my childhood.? I grew up in a seaside town where seagulls were the alarm clocks, everywhere is surrounded by yellow sand and blue sea and we spent our summers floating about in rubber rings and enjoying the sun.
The Morrow is hand sculpted and cast in a biscuity colour and measures a tiny 2cm.
The sea is needle felted with handmade and painted rubber ring, fixed in place, for the Morrow to float around in. The Keepers face is hand sculpted and painted. The shells are also hand sculpted and painted and finished off with seaweed. A hand sculpted and painted seagull flies above on a piece of painted wire (detachable for posting).
All Morrow products are accompanied by an originally poetic back story in the form of a tiny concertina book.
Custom is signed and dated underneath.
